games you can't afford to miss this weekend

The weekend is here again. While we’re happy that the work week has come to an end, we’re also looking forward to all the “owambes”, other outings and of course, the several games available to bet on this weekend.

Typical of any weekend, the coming days will feature at least 1000 games across the world of sports. From football to the European Basketball Championships, the clash of the titans in Las Vegas and Formula 1, it’s going down this weekend.

For the bettors, you can place your wagers on these games by visiting www.nairabet.com and putting your money where your mouth is. It’s understandable that it can be a bit difficult to identify and pick out games from the multitude available on a weekend.

That’s why we will be helping you out by showing you some games you can’t afford to not include in your bet slips – or bet tickets – this weekend. That’s not all. We will also be chipping in some stats that can help you to make the most of your predictions this weekend.

If you’re ready, let’s do this!

  1. Canelo vs GGG

Forget everything you think you’ve seen this year when it comes to boxing. Forget the AJ-Klitschsko bout. Pretend the Mayweather-McGregor fight never happened, because the fight of the century is here.

Saul “CANELO” Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin will be battling for three middleweight championships when they go against each other in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Golovkin is unbeaten in 37 fights with 33 of those wins coming via knockouts. The only time GGG has been beaten in his professional career was when he faced Floyd Mayweather. Alvarez will be looking to become the second man to defeat GGG.

  1. Chelsea vs. Arsenal

Whenever the Blues and the Gooners clash, it’s always a spectacle. And we’re expecting nothing less this weekend when these two giants face each other inside the Stamford Bridge stadium. Chelsea, currently ranked third, will be looking to continue their fine run of form that has seen them win their last three games in the league.

Arsenal on the other hand will be aiming for a win to push themselves out of the bottom half of the Premier League table. But that may be difficult for a side that hasn’t beaten Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge since their 3-5 win in 2011.

Six of the last six meetings between these two sides inside the Stamford Bridge stadium has produced Over 1.5 goals.
4 of those six games ended with Over 2.5 goals.

  1. Formula 1

With just four points separating Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel at the top of the driver’s standing, the Singapore Grand Prix will surely see some fireworks this weekend. At this stage, every point matters and every race win – or podium finish at worst – will count in the end.

While those two names will be battling for supremacy, names like Bottas and Ricciardo will be lurking in the corner, waiting to take advantage of even the slightest errors.

Whose weekend will it be? Hamilton’s, Vettel’s or another driver?

  1. EuroBasket AND AfroBasket Championships

The boys have been separated from the men in the European Basketball Championship. The competition is in the knockout stages already as one semi-finalist has already been confirmed. Slovenia got one over Spain and the Gasol brothers in the first semi-final by a score of 92-72.

This weekend will feature three games: the second final between Russia and Serbia, the 3rd place game and then the final, both of which will take place on Sunday.

There’s also the AfroBasket Championship where Nigeria’s D’Tigers are still in contention to retain a title that they won in 2015.

The Texans have already kick-started action in Gameweek 2 of the regular season with their 13-9 win over Bengals.
