AFCON Quarterfinals

AFCON QuarterfinalsThe AFCON quarterfinals have been going on for a while now.

Now, we are down to the last game. There is one more final spot to be filled. Senegal, Benin, Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Nigeria, and South Africa have already qualified to participate in the semi-final games.

Sadly, Egypt, Guinea, Mali, Congo, Cameroon, Uganda, and Morocco got pulled out of the running during the quarter-final games.

The only match remaining is between Ghana and Tunisia. The outcome of this match will determine which team will fill in the final spot.

Which team do you think that will be?

Let’s take a look at how both teams have done so far;

Ghana

Both teams have not done so well this season

Ghana finished first in the group stage. Out of the three games they played in the group stage, two ended in a draw and they won the last one.

They qualified to play at the knockout stage with a total of five points. They have scored four goals so far and have conceded two.

However, looking at the bright side, they have qualified for the last six semifinals in this tournament. So, hopefully, this season will be like the last six tournaments.

Ghana have met with Tunisia five times and they won three of those games. And one ended in a draw.

Ghana have won only one game this season.

Tunisia

Tunisia, on the other hand, finished on the second spot on their group’s table.

Out of the three games they have played so far, they did not win any. All three games ended in a draw. They qualified to play at the quarterfinals with just three points.

They have scored only two goals since the beginning of the tournament and have conceded only two goals also.

History also does not have so much to say for them. In their last five meetings with Ghana, they have won only one game.

Also, they go into this stage without confidence especially since it has been a tough season for them. They have to make sure that they bring more than their A game on – if that is possible.

For Tunisia, it’s been a season of draws.
