Club football, over the past few weeks, has been full of end-to-end stuff.
From the Premier League to the UEFA Champions League, the Carabao Cup and more, it’s been non-stop action. But all of that is about to be on hold as the FIFA international break is set to resume next week.
While club action will go on a break, international football will resume including UEFA Nations League, CAF AFCON qualifiers and many other international friendlies. But before these games, the weekend fixtures are upon us and here are some games you should definitely add to your bet slip this weekend:
-
Liverpool vs. Manchester City
The past few days have not been the best for Jurgen Klopp’s side. While the Citizens can’t comfortably say otherwise – especially after that late winner in Germany – it’s worse for the Reds.
They have not been able to register a win in the past three games. It all started with their home loss to Chelsea in the EFL Cup. Then a trip to Chelsea in the Premier League ended in a draw.
Their trip to Napoli in the UCL ended in a heart-wrenching defeat for the Red Army whose Egyptian King has been strangely underwhelming this season.
May just be the perfect time for Manchester City to play against the side that defeated three times in four meetings last season. The last time both sides met at the Anfield stadium in the Premier League, it ended in a 7-goal thriller, with the Reds winning the game.

Valencia vs. Barcelona
It’s 14th versus 1st in the La Liga this weekend. But don’t be deceived by the standings of both teams on the log.
Separated by just six points, both sides have not had the best run of form of late. Valencia, on one hand, have only won one in their past games. The Catalan Giants, on the other hand, have only won two out of their last five, both wins coming in the UCL.
Scoring has not been a problem for both sides but it has been the classic case of conceding goals. One thing both sides have in common is this: Two of their last three Last Liga games have ended in a draw.
Will that trend continue this weekend?

Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Monchengladbach
It may not be a straight-forward Bundesliga season for the Bavarian Giants after all. Borussia Monchengladbach have been rampant this season and they may just give Bayern Munich a run for their money this season. This weekend, Bayern will be looking to return to the top of the table with a win this weekend.
They take on fourth-placed Monchengladbach who have scored and average of 2 goals per game this season. It may just be a festival of goals this one, with Monchengladbach’s last 5 games finishing with over 2,5 goals.
