The first international break of the year is here, with qualifiers and international friendly games. For the weekend, there’ll be no action in Europe’s major football leagues.
However, you shouldn’t have to suspend your betting till when the international break is over. Yes, there won’t be EPL, La Liga and Serie A games to bet on. But these aren’t the only football leagues in the world. There are countless others you can make money from this weekend.
Let’s take a look at leagues you can select games from for your weekend bet slip.
-
Brazil Serie A
The 17-game old season will continue across Brazil this weekend. Ten games will be played over the weekend and these are some of the teams to look out for:
-
Flamengo
With 36 points from a possible 51 this season, they’re topping the table. They’ve also scored 38 goals so far this season – that is, an average of over two goals per game. They’ve scored three goals in four of their last six games.
-
Corinthians
They may not be the most prolific side in the league. They, however, boast the best defense in the league this season. They have conceded just nine goals this season. Three of their last five games have ended in a draw, with all five ending with less than 3 goals each.

MLS
Both in the Eastern and Western Conferences of the MLS, it’s all about qualifying for the play-offs. This weekend, the race continues as 20+ teams compete to earn points and feature in the post-season of the Major League Soccer.
Two teams to look out for:
-
Los Angeles FC
One of the most dangerous sides in the franchise, they’ve scored 74 times in 28 games this season. They currently top the Western Conference.
-
Philadelphia Union
This is the No. 1 side in the Eastern Conference. Their last 12 games have been full of goals – all featured over 1,5 goals. Only two of these games ended in a draw.
-
La Liga 2
There’ll still be club football action in Spain this week, despite the break.
La Liga 2 will be featuring 11 games as teams try to gain points in the battle for promotion. Some of the teams to look out for include:
-
Cadiz FC
They’ve won all three games played in the league this season. Scoring seven goals, they’ve only conceded three goals. Little wonder they top of the league.
-
Fuenlabrada
Alongside Cadiz, they’re the only side yet to drop points this season. They will be looking to occupy the top spot after the weekend.
