London Derby

London Derby

It’s not the biggest London derby that you’re probably familiar with. It doesn’t even involve Arsenal or West Ham. It however features some of the biggest football clubs in England.

That’s right, there’ll be two versions of the London derby in the space of three days.

After Fulham play against Tottenham, they will then proceed to facing Chelsea at home. Things couldn’t get any harder for the occupants for the Craven Cottage as they face the top sides in England back-to-back.

Scott Parker’s men endured a torrid end to their year 2020, failing to win all of their games in December. Starting off the year with an FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers, they will be hoping to build on the momentum this year.

They can also hope for a favorable result considering how poorly Chelsea have performed in recent times.

The Blues, have managed just two wins in their last five games in all competitions. If you consider their last 10 games, they have only recorded four wins. Only three times in that run of 10 games did they manage to keep a clean sheet, with one coming in their FA Cup win over Morecambe.

Both teams have scored in six of Chelsea’s last 10 games.

After an unbeaten run that lasted through November, the Blues have not remained the same since their loss to Everton. As they seek a win in this clash and Fulham also chase the same three points to fight off relegation, which betting options are there to choose from:

  1. Goals

Five of Chelsea’s last six games have produced at least three goals. While this has not been the same in Fulham’s recent games, the history between both sides is another pointer that it may rain goals in this game.

All five of the last five meetings between these two sides have finished with at least two goals scored. And most of those goals were scored by Chelsea.

  1. Chelsea to Win

For all the noise about Chelsea’s recent poor run of form, Fulham is an opponent they love to play against. This particular version of the London derby has brought a lot joy to Chelsea – and the fanbase – because of the number of times they’ve won it.

In the last 17 meetings between both sides, Fulham have never managed a win against the Blues. With 10 wins and seven draws, Chelsea have dominated this fixture. And it is revealed no clearly than in the last five editions of this particular fixture. Aggregate score-line reads Fulham 2 – Chelsea 13.

  1. Chelsea to Score First Goal

If the Blues are favored by the history of this game to win, they are also in pole position to get the game’s first goal. Asides the fact that Fulham have conceded a goal in their last five against Chelsea, the Blues scored the first goal in those five games.
