3 Betting Tips for the Most Expensive Football Game in the World

May 23, 2018 6 Comments

May 26th is no ordinary day in the football calendar.

The world is counting down to the UCL final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

One of either Mohamed Salah or Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to lift European club football’s most prestigious trophy.

But before that game, there’s a final Premier League place left to be fought for. Only two teams have ensured their promotion to the Premier League this season, Wolves and Cardiff City. On Saturday, two teams will go head-to-head as they try to be the third team to gain promotion to the most-watched football league in the world.

The EFL Championship final will feature Aston Villa and Fulham FC. It’s the most expensive football game in the world, with the winner set to win £170m. So much at stake.

You can also make some money from this game by using the following tips to make informed guesses about the outcomes of the game.

  1. Defense

Since the Playoffs began, Aston Villa has shut out everything that has been thrown at their defense. This show of solid strength at the back is a trend that they’ve been building all season long.

Out of 46 games played in the regular season, they conceded less than one goal per game (46 games, 42 goals conceded, the third lowest of the league).

Fulham on the other hand, conceded a goal in their game against Derby County. Over the regular season, they conceded an average of at least one goal per game. (46 games, 46 goals conceded).

  1. Offense

While Aston Villa could only manage to score once against Middlesbrough over two legs, Fulham scored twice against Derby County in their two-legged semi-final clash.

Looking back at the regular season, both teams scored an average of over 1,5 goals per game. Prolific!

  1. History

Both teams sure know how to play each other as history between both clubs shows.

The last two times both teams clashed in the Championship, bragging rights were equally shared, with Aston Villa winning the first game 2-1 and Fulham retaliating with a 2-0 win this year.

Of the last seven meetings between both sides, only one ended with less than one goal. Of these past 7 meetings, none has ended in a draw, with Fulham winning 5 of those games.

Do you think this will be another win for Fulham or will Aston Villa’s experienced squad win this one for Steve Bruce?

In the Fulham ranks, one name to watch out for is Ryan Sessegnon, the teenage sensation who is Fulham’s leading goal-scorer. There’s also Mitrovic somewhere in the mix.

For Villa, it’s all about an experienced squad, featuring players like John Terry and Snodgrass (the player with the highest number of assists this season, 14).

Home or away win or draw is represented by 1X2. Selecting 1 means you’re backing home team to win. 2 means away win. X means draw.
So in the example you gave, to back Argentina to win, you’d select 2!
