In Europe, Februarys are popular or the return of knockout football in the Champions League. In America, football usually makes a return too. But it’s much bigger, with sky-high anticipation, revenues in billions and players hoping to win rings, instead of winners’ medals.
Popularly known as American Football, the 2020 season of the NFL will come to an end this weekend as Super Bowl LV takes center stage. Featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the February fiesta will feature two of the best football-playing sides in the country go head-to-head.
Not just the best teams, but also and arguably, the two best quarter-backs in the game this season.

Playing at home, Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be hoping for yet another Super Bowl win. This will be his 10th Super Bowl appearance, with the former New England Patriots QB hoping to win his seventh championship ring. Only two years ago, the 43-year-old was helping Bill Belichick to yet another championship ring after their win over Los Angeles Rams.
Apart from their two losses in November – on to Kansas City Chiefs and the other to Los Angeles Rams – the Buccaneers have not looked back. Finishing their regular season with a four-game winning streak, they added another three to that streak during the playoffs, scoring at least 30 points in each of the three games they played post-season.

Compared to Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes is still a stranger to the Super Bowl. Despite winning his first championship ring last year, this is just his second appearance in the football fiesta. The 25-year-old, who has now become an indispensable part of the team, has pushed them all the way again this year.
This is evident in his numbers in just the play-offs alone.
In two of the play-off games the Chiefs played on their way to the Super Bowl, Mahomes made four touchdown passes. That’s three less than the seven that Brady managed in three playoff games. However, it goes to show just how deadly he is if allowed to operate freely.
