It’s not business as usual in the UEFA Champions League but the competition continues, regardless.
And now that the Round of 16 is done and dusted with, all is set for the semi-finals of the competition.
Two German sides, two Spanish sides, two French sides, one English team, and one Italian team remain in the competition. And for the rest of the week, these sides will put it all on the line for a chance to progress in the competition.
With the double-legged ties off the books, it’s a do-or-die affair, the perfect time to go big or go home for the teams still involved.

The journey to the final has been divided in two halves.
First Half
Rb Leipzig will try to get the better of Atletico Madrid in this crunch encounter. It’s the first time the German outfit have made it this far in the competition. The 14 goals they have scored in this season’s edition of the competition has helped them this far.
Another first?
This is the first-ever meeting between both sides. And the Germans must find a way past an Atleti side that has conceded only six goals since this year’s UEFA Champions League season began.

The second game in this half of the draw sees Atalanta locking horns with PSG. And the result from their Round of 16 ties helps to put things in better context.
Atalanta, against Valencia, scored eight goals in 180 minutes of football. Adding the four goals they conceded, their Round of 16 fixture featured goals at an average of one every 15 minutes. For their Champions League opponents, a 3-2 aggregate win over Borussia was enough to push them into this stage of the competition

Second Half
Some pundits are already talking about a potential Manchester City vs Bayern Munich Champions League semi-final clash. But these two sides still have a lot of work to do to get there.
For City, they take on Lyon, a side they have a bit of history with. In the last two meetings between both sides, Man. City failed to defeat the French side. Having failed to go past this stage of the competition in years, they must break that record to proceed furter in this competition.

For the Bavarians, they earned a right to face Barcelona after their emphatic win over Chelsea. With six past Champions League meetings between both sides, this one can be regarded as a classic. None of the last eight meetings between both sides has seen less than two goals scored. Safe to say that a festival of goals awaits when these two heavyweights clash in Portugal.
