Later this week, and barely after the Battle of the Reds at the Anfield Stadium, the Premier League will feature yet another heavyweight clash, the London Derby.
The title race is over, with Liverpool leading the rest by 16 points – with a game in hand. However, this doesn’t make the league less interesting as there are other exciting things happening in it. Spurs are struggling and Man. United fans are growing impatient with Solksjaer. Speaking of managers, there are two of them in London who will be looking to finish in the top four – Frank Lampard and Mikel Arteta.
Their ambitions will set the tone for the next clash between both sides in London. Just before the Premier League goes for a FA Cup break, Chelsea will welcome the Gunners to the Stamford Bridge on MatchDay 24.

Derbies are one of the most unpredictable sporting events. As players and managers alike are fired up, they could affect the game in more ways than one. However, what do the trends say may happen in this game?

A Chelsea Win or Draw
Stamford Bridge was not a happy hunting ground for Arsenal in the league last decade. The last time the Gunners won a league game at Stamford Bridge was back in October 2011. Since then, they’ve managed just a draw and suffered six losses.
Will the trend continue this weekend?

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last four games, across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in two of them. However, Aubameyang will miss this game. And with their top striker out, they may find it hard to score goals.

Both Teams to Score
Derby games are most times extreme; either extremely cagey or extremely open. The history between these two sides has a lot of goals in it, with both sides scoring in seven of their last 10 match-ups.
Although Chelsea have failed to score in two of their last four home games and Arsenal couldn’t find the net against Everton, history is set to repeat itself in this game, with a goal fest on the cards.

Cards
Only one of the last 10 meetings between both sides did not see a player receive a yellow card. On the average, there have been 4 players yellow carded in each of the last 10 of this London derby. Furthermore, two of those last 10 games had players sent off in them. It’s not the feistiest derby in the world. However, it’s still a derby football game and anything can happen.

I have been a Chelsea fan since I was 10 years old, I still remember the way Chelsea played against Manchester United in that Champions League final in 2008. Their playstyle ignited my love for them. Since then, I have been a die-hard Chelsea fan. I hope our current Head Coach Frank Lampard leads the team to victories. The article has really gotten my interest. I am going to bookmark your blog and keep checking for new details every week.
