So far so good, it’s been an eventful year in the world of sport, featuring major events in just its first 35 days. The world of football has been pretty much busier than other sports, featuring action in Europe’s top five leagues, among other things.
All that action continues this month in the form of cup games. This month, the semi-final of the Coppa Italia will be played. The knockout stages of both the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League will resume too. And then there’s the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey.
The year 2020 has been solely about Spain’s National League Cup, with three stages of the same competition already witnessed this year alone. From the Round of 32 to the Round of 16, it’s been an eventful run for the teams involved, especially Granada.
In the first game of the quarter-final round, Granada pulled off an upset as they defeated Valencia 2-1. Former Valencia man, Roberto Soldado scored twice against his former side as Granada made it five Copa del Rey wins in their last five. Granada, having gained qualification for the semi-finals, will now wait for the remaining quarter-final games to know who their opponents will be.

In one of the other Copa del Rey quarter-final games, Real Madrid will take on Real Sociedad. While this is Real Madrid’s third game in the Copa del Rey this season, Sociedad will be playing for a fifth time in the cup competition this season when they visit Real Madrid.
In their last four games, they scored 17 goals and conceded just once. Real Madrid, on the other hand, scored seven goals in their last two games, conceding just one goal too. The head-to-head record between both sides is filled with goals as eight of their last 10 clashes have seen over 2,5 goals scored.

In the other all-La-Liga clash, Athletic Bilbao welcome a Barcelona side without Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele. Priced at 1.95 to win the game on NairaBET, Barcelona are not outright favorites to win this contest. After their close-call against Ibiza (away from home), they Catalan giants went on to thrash Leganes 5-0, a win that came in front of their home fans.
Now, Messi and co. have to play another away game, on a ground that they have not recorded much success in recently. In their last five games against Bilbao away from home, Barcelona have lost twice and won twice.
