The football season in Europe is now in full swing as action resumed in the German Bundesliga this past weekend. With all five of the top 5 football leagues now in full swing, the past weekend was filled with plenty action and of course, as many controversial topics as there were talking points.
Out of the bunch of things that happened, here are 4 things we noticed from all of the weekend’s action, that you may have missed – including the Monday Night Football games.
-
Something is terrifyingly wrong at Manchester United
When a club as big as Manchester United make 20 attempts in a game but fail to score at least one goal, then there’s plenty of trouble. A 3-0 loss to Tottenham means Manchester United have now lost two of the opening 3 games of their campaign.
Blame fingers are being pointed in all directions and it seems the Red Devils have a pretty long season ahead of them.

Serie A of goals
When next you’re looking for a league to back the goals, you should consider the Italian Serie A.
This past weekend, only one game ended without a goal. 6 of the 10 MatchDay 2 games played had over 2,5 goals scored in them. Over 1,5 goals was scored in 7 of those 10 games. And it was a total domination by the home teams as no away team got a win.
Both teams scored a combined five goals on MatchDay 2 and conceded 6 goals.
Do you think both teams will score in this game?

Real Madrid written off too early?
Take a look at the La Liga standings and you’ll find Real Madrid, with six goals scored and just one conceded, sitting at the top of the table. Ronaldo’s departure brought a cloud of doom over Los Blancos. But it has not affected them one bit.
It may be early days, but they – alongside Barcelona – are the only side whose 100% record remains intact.

PSG is running away with the title
They’re the only side to have two players as joint top scorers in the league so far. The nine goals they have scored in the three league games played so far is the most any of the 19 other teams have managed – only Dijon comes close with 8 goals scored.
Although they’ve conceded more goals than Lille and Lyon, they seem to have started the season like a side that wants to retain its title.
The football scene in Europe has come alive! Save the international breaks in-between, fans are in for a time of their lives. In the coming weekends, which teams will you be rooting for? Leave us a comment and share your thoughts with us.
