This weekend, a new Formula 1 season will commence.
The first race, which has been slated for Australia, will see the drivers go head-to-head for the Driver’s Championship title that will be won in November.
Just like the race courses that will be covered during the season, the battle for supremacy will be filled with twists and turns. All drivers will start off the weekend with zero points. But after the weekend in Australia, the race standings will begin to take shape.
Most drivers know how starting in pole position for a race is important. They also know just how equally important the first race of any F1 season is. There’s no better time to start firing up those engines and raking up those points than now.
However, it’s also one of the hardest times to do it.

All 20 drivers will be putting out their best engines. All teams will be pushing their equipments to the max as they try to get one over the others.
However, it seems they may all have to settle for a place behind Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
You can be forgiven for thinking F1 is just about these two drivers. Since preparations for the new season began, the discussion has been centered on these two gentlemen.
Both drivers can be regarded as the major contenders for the title. And the reason is not far-fetched.
Lewis Hamilton is the current champion. His title win last year was the fifth in his career. And the British driver does not look like he’ll slow down anytime soon. He won 11 of the 21 races last year and he is heavily tipped to retain the title he won.

On the other hand, there’s Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
He won five of the 21 races in the 2018 F1 calendar.
Not only is he a strong contender to win the title. He’s also a strong contender to win the first race in Australia. The German driver knows all about starting an F1 season so well.

Last year, he started off with a bang, scoring race wins in Australia and Bahrain.
Hamilton may look unstoppable, but Vettel has been in the game long enough to know how to stop the British driver. There will be other names gunning for glory this season.
Daniel Riccardo, one of the few drivers to win a race last year, has switched to Team Renault. The Australian will be looking to do well in front of home fans as the 2019 season begins.
Then there’s Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen, all of which are capable of throwing a spanner in the works this weekend.
Which of these drivers are you backing this weekend? Leave us your comments and share your thoughts with us.
