It’s been a long road for the remaining four teams in the FA Cup this year.
Their journey, which started January this year, has seen them play four games on their way to the semi-final. And for each team, the tale of the tape has been different.
In the first semi-final draw, Watford will take on Wolves. If this were a Premier League game, then it would be a game between 8th placed Watford and 7th placed Wolves. Outside the top six, both sides have been the best of the rest in the PL. It may be difficult for them to break into the top six.
However, making it this far in the FA Cup makes it an unforgettable season for both sides already.

To an extent, one can say the journey to this stage has been tougher for Wolves than Watford.
Asides Woking, Watford made their way past QPR, Newcastle and Crystal Palace. Wolves started their campaign with a game against Liverpool and qualified for the final with a win over a resurgent Manchester United.
They’ve scored over 1,5 goals in four of the five FA Cup games played this year.

In the other semi-final draw, Manchester City will take on Brighton as they continue to aim for the quadruple. While it was largely expected that Man. City would come this far in the competition, the same cannot be said for a side still too close to the relegation zone for comfort.
The only thing that separates these two sides is the number of goals they’ve scored so far. Pep Guardiola’s side has been the most prolific side in this competition this year. They’ve scored 19 goals in four games – an average of almost five goals per game!

Brighton’s not far behind though as they have scored 11 goals, albeit in five FA Cup games this year. An average of two goals per game is not bad at all. But Brighton has to be wary of their record against Manchester City.
In the last three games between both sides, Brighton has scored only once while conceding seven! They’ve also lost all of their last three games against City.
There will be no home team or away team in these two games as the games will be played at the Wembley Stadium. Only two of these PL sides can make it to the final.
