The magic of the FA Cup continues this weekend with the fifth round of games set to take place across England. Eight games will be played from Friday till Monday. As usual, there will be a replay if any of these eight games end in a draw.
Only 7 out of the 16 teams are Premier League sides. With some of them have to travel away from home to play on smaller, not-so-sophisticated pitches, the drama of the FA Cup is sure to continue this weekend.
Speaking of drama, one of the most anticipated games of the round is the titanic clash between Chelsea and Manchester United. This game means we’re assured of having one less Premier League side in the quarter-finals of the competition.
For Man. United, it remains to be seen how they will bounce back from their defeat to PSG. That was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first defeat and fans will be looking forward to how the Norwegian will respond. On the Blue half, Chelsea will want to make headway to feature in yet another cup final this season.

One of the other games to be played is Manchester City’s visit to Newport Co. The League Two side will be tasked with the duty of stopping a side that has scored 12 goals in their two FA Cup fixtures this season.
But Newport, although in the third tier of English football, have displaced Middlesbrough (English Championship side) and Leicester City (another Premier League outfit) on their way to the fifth round.
Birghton versus Derby is a game between two sides with contrasting fortunes. Brighton’s only wins in 2019 have only been in the FA Cup (over Bournemouth and West Brom). Every other game they have played this year has ended in a draw or loss for them.
Managed by Frank Lampard, Derby’s win over Southampton in January marked the beginning of a six-game unbeaten streak. During the time, Derby failed to score in just one of those games.

Wolves travel away from home to face Bristol City. The Championship side poses a different kind of threat for the Premier League outfit. The last time Bristol City lost a football game was back in November, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Leeds.
Since then, they’ve gone 15 games unbeaten, in all competitions. What’s more, they scored in all 15 games. Wolves have only lost twice this year, with both loses coming in the Premier League. Having knocked out Liverpool from the competition, they will be brimming with confidence going into this game.
