It’s no news that the US Open is currently being played.
This is the fourth and the final Grand Slam we will be experiencing this year, and as expected, everyone is anticipating the players who will finish this year by winning a major title.
The tournament has featured seven matchdays so far. As we move closer to the final, the anticipation and tension is beginning to rise.
So, the question for today is: who do you think will win the US Open? Do you have any players in mind?
Let’s take a look at the games so far.
The US Open So Far…
We are on the third round of games. And when it comes to favourites to win in the USA, Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka are definitely on the list.
The men singles’ games are well underway, and we have players prepping for the third and fourth rounds.
In the first section, Djokovic has been able to pull through to the fourth round, with an excellent record.
So far, he has not lost any set in all the games he has played, and there have been no spill overs to a fourth set in any game.
The defending champion will have to play Wawrinka (also a former champion) in the fourth round. It’s been more of a four-set season for Wawrinka, but he has been able to make it thus far.
Players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Dominik Kopfer, David Goffin, Grigor Dimitrov, Alex de Minaur, and Danlil Medvedev are players you also might want to watch out for, especially in the fourth round of games.

Moving on to the women singles…
It has been a series of wins for Naomi Osaka, even though she needed a third set to win her first game. It gets interesting because she has to play against the newest sensation this season, 15-year-old Coco Gauff.
Though Coco cannot be compared to Naomi, she commands just as much attention as Naomi does this season and she has celebrated two wins already. Coco has a tough one ahead of her and this just might be the end of the road for her this season.
Anyways, D. Vekic has proceeded to the fourth round with two-set wins in all her three games. She is to face J. Gorges who has performed just as well. Though both players were not listed in the top 10 ranking, they have done well, nonetheless.
Serena Williams is back with a bang and with three games won, she is set to play in the fourth round. We will be doing great injustice leaving Ashley Barty out of this list. She is to go on a fourth-round date with Qiang Wang.
The US Open has taken quite an interesting turn this season and players who were not on the top 10 ranking have scaled through farther than some who were.
So, its up to you. Which of these players do you think will make it past fourth round and down to the finish line with a win?
