On the African scene, it’s the beginning of the battle to qualify for the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations. It’s the first round of games in the qualifier. And we can’t wait to see how the so-called big names will start out in this one. Will it be a stroll in the park for them or will the field of play be evened out by the so-called minnows?
Switching over to Europe, the race for a Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup ticket is on. With Sweden, after yesterday’s win over France, now topping a group that has France and the Netherlands, we could see a shake-up in the standings by the end of the weekend. Spain and Italy are on 13 points. Serbia and Republic of Ireland are on 11 points.
Your guess is as good as ours: it’s game-on this weekend!
