French Open

The 2020 French Open is the third Grand Slam event set to take place this year. After the disrupted calendar, one Grand Slam event is following hot on the heels of another.

Only a few days ago, a new king and queen of tennis were crowned in the U.S Open. Naomi Osaka and Dominic Thiem conquered all before them and became champions. Another major tennis title is now up for grabs and you can expect the scramble for sets and match points to intensify over the coming days.

Players from all over the world are still trying to get into this year’s edition of the competition. The qualifiers are very much underway, with the little-known players competing for the available slots.

  1. Rafa Nadal

If you check the list of French Open winners in recent history, you’ll find the name of the man more than a few times. For context’s sake, the Spanish tennis player have won eight of the last 10 French Open Grand Slam events.

Dominic comes into this tournament riding high on the wings of his triumph in America. The Austrian will now look to go one further at the Roland Garros this year. Although he made it to the final of the tournament in the last two years, he fell short to Rafa Nadal.

  1. Serena Williams

Her search for a 24th major crown will continue in France with this Grand Slam tournament. Having fallen short in the U.S Open, Serena will now look to add a first French Open title since 2015.
