Have you heard about people making millions from sports betting – or do you know people who make a consistent weekly income from sports betting – and would also love to make money betting, but don’t know how to go about it?
For now, forget about strategies or stats or trends: the first step to making money from sports betting is knowing how to place the bets at all.
So if you’re new to sports betting or just newly joined NairaBET, this article shows you how to place bets on NairaBET – so that you can start making money immediately with your new account.
Before we go on however, you need to understand that there are two ways you can place your bets on NairaBET. You can either place your bets online or you visit a bet shop to place your bets.
For shop betting, all you have to do is walk up to a NairaBET outlet and let the agent know you’re a newbie; they’ll definitely put you through.
While we will talk about shop betting some other time, this article however focuses on the online side of betting. Here are the steps you should take to place your bets on the NairaBET website:
Step 1: Visit NairaBET.com
This is where you will gain access to all the games available to bet on and the numerous betting markets available to make money from.
This is what the screen will look like:
Step 2: Select your games
From the image above, you’ll see various betting options, from sports like football, tennis, baseball, etc, to other betting features like “In-Play”, and also vertical markets like Virtuals (which has games like virtual football league and virtual dog racing), Casino, etc.
All these are betting options – several opportunities to make money, but for the sake of this article, we will focus on the most popular: football.
If you click on “Football”, you will be taken to a page that has various countries listed.
The country you will choose will depend on the league you want to bet on.
So let’s assume that you want to place your bet on the Premier League, all you need to do is click on “England” and then click on “Premier League”.
You’ll then be redirected to this page:
The image above contains a list of PL games available to bet on, the default betting markets (home win, draw and away win), the betting code, and the number of markets remaining that you can choose from (e.g., the “+313>” in West Ham vs. Tottenham means there are still 313 bets (other markets than 1X2) you can place on this game.
Clicking the red number takes you to a page containing those other markets. See below:
As you can see in the picture above, you can sort markets to quickly find what you want.
Clicking on “Goal Markets”, for example, will give you betting options/markets that deal with goals, like “Total Goals”, “Race To 3 Goals” (that is, who will be first to score 3 goals), “Who Scores The 3rd Goal”, “Half of 1st Goal” (that is, in which half would the first goal be scored), etc.
Note: Whenever you’re not sure what a market or bet type means, simply click the red encircled “i” icon by the right side of each market (circled in blue in the image above). An explanation of that bet market will pop up. See below:
You will notice that each market has a specific decimal number written under it; these are call odds.
Odds are basically a bet’s chance of winning – since they are the percentages of a team/game’s chances of having various outcomes.
For example, Everton 3.00, Leicester 2.60 means Leicester has a greater chance of winning the game and so the payout on Leicester winning it will be lower than the payout on Everton winning it. As you can see in the image, the “draws” also have their odds.
For the purpose of this tutorial, let’s select a number of games.
Let’s choose Tottenham to win, Arsenal to win also, Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Leicester City to end in a draw.
When we’re done selecting our games, this is what the page will look like:
The blue rectangles show the games/markets chosen. And at the bottom of the page, you’ll be able to see your ‘BetSlip’ (coloured in orange) with the number of bets you’ve accumulated (chosen) and total number of odds (how much your stake or betting money would be multiplied by).
Step 3: Input your stake and place your bet
When you’re done selecting your games, simply click on your bet slip (the orange rectangle at the bottom).
You’ll then be taken to a page that contains your selected games and total odds, including:
- A box to input your “Total Stake”
- Your bonus
- Your total winnings
- “Place Bet” button, and
- “Get Bet Code” button
Simply input the amount you want to stake (the 1000 above is my “stake” in this case), and then click on “Place bet”. Your bet will be placed!
If you will be sharing this same ticket with other people, you can as well click on the “Get bet code” button to generate a shareable code — which you can also present to attendants in a bet shop, if you prefer shop betting.
Placing your bet doesn’t have to be so complicated. All you need to do is follow the step-by-step instructions, repeat the whole process a couple of times and you’ll become an expert bettor very soon.
