In Africa…
Last year’s finalists, Senegal and Algeria, have both qualified for the next edition of the competition, with two games to spare. For other sides, like Ivory Coast, the journey to qualify will continue next year.
The Ivorians and Madagascar are both tied on six points. But Madagascar have scored four more goals than their Group rivals. And they will be looking to defeat and also move ahead of their opponents in their next AFCON qualifiers game.

In South America…
Brazil and Argentina head into the next round of games as the teams to beat. With both teams each conceding just twice in their last three games, their next opponents, Uruguay and Peru respectively, have their work cut out for them.
