Later this week, the final round of group games for the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League season will be played. It has been somewhat of a break from the norm in the UCL this season.

UCL group games are usually not the most exciting. UCL group games usually just set the tone for the knockout games. UCL group games usually don’t feature major key clashes. All of these myths have been quashed by this season’s group stage games.

Borussia Dortmund defeated Atletico Madrid. Lyon took 4 points off the best side in the Premier League. Do you remember how Inter Milan scored twice in the last 6 minutes of their game against Tottenham? Then there was the Juventus – Manchester United clash(es).

It’s all about to come to an end. The drama is set for a thrilling conclusion as this week, teams will battle it out to score points for qualification. While some fates have been sealed, other teams still have their hopes hanging in the balance.

Let’s take a look at some of these teams:

1. Tottenham

The North London side will be up against Barcelona at the Camp Nou this week. At stake for Pochettino’s men is a ticket to the next round of the competition. A win is almost non-negotiable because of a certain Italian side.

Inter Milan will be playing PSV, a game whose reverse fixture they won 2-1. At the San Siro, they look like they will win the game. Spurs currently have a superior goal advantage. A win against Barcelona should do the trick.

But does Tottenham have what it takes to defeat the Catalan giants?

2. Napoli

Liverpool vs. Napoli is arguably the biggest game of this last MatchDay. In Group C, the Italians are currently sitting at the top of the group. But they’ve not yet qualified. Matter-of-factly, no team has secured qualification yet, and this included PSG also.

If you described this one as a winner-takes-all game, you’ll be right. Liverpool need the win to avoid qualifying for the Europa League instead. Napoli’s manager has already come out to say they would be idiots if they fail to qualify. Talk about a must win

  1. Juventus/Manchester United

For these two teams, it’s all about winning the group. Juventus currently lead the standings with 12 points. They’re closely followed by Manchester United with 10 points. Both sides have already qualified.

But both sides will be looking to win their final UCL games to earn the group’s top spot and maybe avoid meeting a top side in the Round of 16 draw.

So, which of these four teams will win their games this week? Which of them are you sure of enough to add to your bet slip? Leave us your comments and share your thoughts with us.
