Life After Premier League: 5 Other Events You Can Bet On

May 14, 2018 Leave a Comment

The 2017/2018 Premier League season has come and has gone. But it was definitely one to not forget in a hurry.

The PL is however one of the few leagues in Europe that has come to an end, with the French Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga drawing the curtains too.

It’s a bitter-sweet feeling because our darling Premier League stars will be away from our T.V. sets for a while, and betting on Premier League games will be suspended.

But not to worry. There is a sweet part.

And that is…

…with the World Cup fast-approaching, they won’t be gone for too long! *insert dancing emoji*

More so, if you’re wondering what events are there to bet on in the absence of the Premier League, here are 5 sporting events you can choose from:

  1. NBA Playoffs

Four teams are battling it out for a chance to feature in the NBA Playoffs Final.

Celtics took Game 1 of their best-of-seven series against Cleveland Cavaliers and will be hoping they can keep Lebron James at bay for a longer period.

Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors battle it out in the Western Conference Final.

Which team do you think will win Game 2 of both the Eastern Conference Final and the Western Conference Final?

  1. Formula1

Last weekend, Lewis Hamilton won his second race of the season, after going the first 3 races without a race win. And all of a sudden, he has opened up a 17-point gap lead over his nearest rival, Sebastian Vettel.

It’s just the 5th race of a 21-race F1 season and there’s plenty more action to come, starting with the Monaco Grand Prix, followed by the Canadian GP and then the French GP.

That’s more than enough races to look forward to and also make money from.

  1. French Open

The clay season is well underway in the tennis world. And one of the major tournaments set to start in May is the French Open (aka Roland Garros).

This will be the 121st edition of the tournament and will feature all the big names from both the ATP (Association of Tennis Players) and the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) being a Grand Slam.

  1. FIFA World Cup

Kick-off in Russia is just a month away. With club football done and dusted for most players, it’s all about the big announcements from different national team managers about their list of players going to the mundial.

With 32 teams from around the world set to feature in Russia, which of them do you think will win their first game at the tournament?

  1. Champions League and Europa League Final

Although some domestic leagues in Europe have wrapped up their season, there’s still plenty at stake in Europe for some certain teams.

In the Europa League, Atletico Madrid will take on Marseille in the final. It’s been a long season for both clubs that dismissed a number of football giants on their way to the final.

Liverpool and Real Madrid will battle it out for a chance to lift the UEFA Champions League. For the Reds, it’s about winning their 6th European trophy. For the Los Blancos, they’ve got their eyes focused on winning their 13th European title.

Will the Spanish clubs win both trophies or will there be upsets by the French and English teams?

Although the Premier League’s gone, there are more than enough options to choose from – and make money from too. This list is definitely just scratching the surface!
