When the Indiana Wells (BNP Paribas) Open was concluded, it was another ATP World Tour that produced a surprise winner in Juan Martin del Potro. The Argentine upset the odds and defeated Roger Federer to win the competition.
Two weeks after that final in California, the tennis superstars have played against themselves in another tennis competition, the Miami Open in Florida. With the final of that competition set to be played this Sunday, two new faces will be featuring in the final of this tournament – after Roger Federer and Martin del Potro fell by the way side.
One of those finalists is Alexander Zverev Jr. The German who is just 20-years old (the youngest player in the ATP top 30) breezed his way into the final by using his youthful energy to get the better of his opponents. In the Round of 64, he had needed a three-set game to get the better of his Russian opponent, Medvedev.
Progressing to the Round of 32, it was the first and only time in the tournament that Zverev lost the first set in his game. He rallied back from that early set back to defeat David Ferrer, in another three-set game of course.
That was the last time the youngster needed a three-set game to get the better of his opponents as he defeated Australian bad boy, Nick Kyrgios (6-4, 6-4) in the round of 16, defeated Coric (6-4, 6-4) in the quarter-final, and defeated Carreno Busta (7-6, 6-2) in the semis to book a place for himself in the final.

The other finalist, John Isner, who is an American professional tennis player, and is ranked No. 18 on the ATP world rankings, is 12 years older than Zverev. The American has also played five games in the Miami Open so far.
Just like Alexander Zverev, he needed three-set games in his Round of 64 game against Vesely. He moved on to get the better of Youzhny (6-4, 6-3) in the Round of 32, before defeating Marin Cilic (7-6, 6-3) in the last 16.
He was able to qualify for the semi-final by getting the better of Chung. He faced del Potro in the semi-final and defeated the veteran in straight sets (6-1, 7-6). In all of his games, he only dropped one set while enjoying the support of the home crowd.
