The 2018 NBA season tipped off during the past week.
And, so far, so good, it has been a season of exciting plays, a season with plenty to ponder upon and, of course, a season of which remaining games fans should be on the look out for.
In the Eastern Conference, four out of the 15 teams – Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards – have started the new season on losing notes and are yet to win a game. Of all of them, it’s evident that the Cavs are missing LeBron James.
At the top of the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors have started on a positive note, having won all of their first three games. Although they’ve played one game short, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons are hot on the heels of the team that has Kawhi Leonard in it.

Before the season started, Kyrie Irving’s Boston Celtics were favorites to qualify for the conference’s play-offs. But they have not started like a team that boasts the likes of Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Gordon Hayward. Their only loss has come against the Toronto Raptors.
So maybe, just maybe, both sides will be featuring in the finals of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Despite their opening day loss to the Boston Celtics, the 76ers boast a young side that could push their way to the latter stages of the Conference.
But it’s still early days.
Speaking of early days, the Western Conference, as expected, has been largely dominated by the team everyone expects to do a three-peat, the Golden State Warriors. Although they have won their first two games of the season, they’re still sitting in fourth place, behind Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers.
These are the four teams with a 100% record so far – although the Warriors had to fight hard to record a 124-223 win over Utah Jazz.
At the bottom of the conference, LeBron James’ LA Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder sit at the lower end of the table. Without wins in the two games played, picking up those wins is imperative.
After that melee that ensued in their game against the Lakers, James Harden’s Houston Rockets are placed 10th on the log. They are also favorites to repeat the last season feat: reach the latter stages of the Western Conference.
There’s still a long way to go in the 2018 NBA season. There are still a lot of games to be played over the course of the season. Like the Utah Jazz showed against the Warriors, the season may just be as unpredictable as can ever be.
But what do you think? How do you think the season will play out? Who are your favorites to dominate which conference? Leave us your comments and share your thoughts with us.
