No doubt, it’s the football season. And with non-stop club football action set to follow the international break, it is set to remain so for a while.

Of the 32 teams currently playing in the regular season, Pittsburgh Steelers remains the only unbeaten side so far. In the eight games they’ve played, no side has defeated them. Their list of vanquished sides includes Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles.

The Steelers’ have not scored less than 20 points per game this season. All their games this season has seen at least 40 points scored.

The NFL Team Yet to Win
In total contrast to the record maintained by Steelers, the New York Jets have failed to win any of their last nine games this season. If you call them the whipping boys of the league, you won’t be far from the truth. Despite scoring 27 points (the joint-second highest they have managed this season) in their last game, they still lost.

The On-Going National Battle
The NFL is split into two different conferences, the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).
While Pittsburgh Steelers have dominated the AFC, the competition has been stiffer in the NFC.
The top three teams – Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks – have only lost twice. Only Kansas City, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens have better or equal records so far.

New Orleans Saints have enjoyed the longest winning streak in this conference, going five without defeat.
The regular season of the league has crossed its halfway mark. The next few rounds of games will feature teams scrambling to save their season. The dominant ones will also be looking to maintain their stranglehold on the respective conferences. Some teams will improve their form from hence while others will fade away.
