It seems like it was just yesterday that last season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) games ended.
Catching up to the anticipation of next year’s games, a new season of the UCL will begin in two days’ time. This means you enjoy the thrill and buzz of the game, but most importantly, you get to be a part of it.
The group draw has been made and teams already have an idea how intense it will be for them this season.
Just like every other season in every sport, there are teams that are bound to do well even though only one can emerge the winner.
That brings us to the question: which team(s) are you rooting for as we begin this season? Who will you be placing your money on?
Let’s take a look at some teams you might want to consider:
Reigning champions, Liverpool, will be defending their title this season and be gunning for a second championship title in a row.
Even though winning twice in a row is not so easy, it is not impossible. They have won the Champions League seven times, so they are not novices to winning.
Liverpool has been placed with Napoli, Salsburg, and Genk in Group E.
Though these are tricky opponents, they have a chance of going through the group stage unscaled.
Former champions, Barcelona have held the title three times and reached the semi-final games five times. This includes their semi-final match against Liverpool last season.
They have been consistent performers in the Champions League for over 12 years now and seem to mostly get past the group stage. This time they have a very tight ship in their group.
They will be playing alongside inter-Milan, Silver Prague, Borussia Dortmund. Still, you might want to keep your eyes on the Catalan Giants this season.

Even though Manchester City won the last two seasons of the Premier League, they have been unable to get past the quarter-final stage at the Champions League.
However, this season’s draw seems to be quite a straightforward one for them, especially since they have Shakhtar Donetsk (whom they gave a whopping 9-0 beating over two ties in the last season) Dinamo Zagreb and Atlanta in their group.
This should be an easy one, at least till they leave the group stage.
Real Madrid enter this season hoping to make it their fifth Champions League win in the last seven seasons.
They have on their side, Zinedine Zidane who has never lost any of his twelve group-stage matches as manager and has won 22 out of his 33 games in the tournament.
They have a pretty tough match in Paris Saint-Germain, but their experience in the competition should give them an advantage.
UCL is about to begin and this is a perfect opportunity to make your predictions and earn yourself some extra cash.
