A league season that fees like as if it started yesterday is coming to an end this weekend.
The 2017/2018 Premier League season will feature MatchDay 38 this weekend, drawing the curtain on what has already been an amazing, breath-taking season.
Typical of last matchdays in the PL, all games will be played simultaneously on Sunday. Also synonymous with the last games of the PL season is the struggle for survival, the race for a top four finish or a title race.
This has been an irregular season though.
Manchester City are already champions.
The top four seems to have taken shape (except Liverpool lose to Brighton and Chelsea win at Newcastle). Two clubs have already relegated. There’s not much to see this weekend but you can still make money either ways.
Here’s how:
-
Southampton vs. Manchester City
We have chosen to start with this game because it’s the game with a lot at stake, for both teams. On one hand, the Saints (currently placed 17th on the table) need at least a draw from this game to put daylight between themselves and relegation.
On the other, Manchester City will be looking to set a record even harder to break by winning their 32nd league game and finishing the season with 100 points.

Swansea vs. Stoke
As things stand, Swansea currently occupies the 18th spot on the table and they take on already-relegated Stoke City.
This is a must-win game for the Swans if they’re to avoid relegation.
Icing on the cake? They need to win this game by at least a 10-0 margin, then hope that Southampton lose to Manchester City if they’re to jump into 17th spot and be safe from drowning in the relegation waters.

Newcastle vs. Chelsea
The Blues can still play Champions League football next season. But they have to win this game against Newcastle and hope Brighton can pull off the unthinkable and be the first team to defeat Liverpool at home this season.
As for the game against Newcastle, the records are in favor of Chelsea.
The last time Chelsea lost to the Magpies was in 2014. Since then, both teams have faced each other 5 times, with Chelsea winning 4 times and all the games seeing more than 1 goal in them.
Do you think there will be 3 goals scored in this game?

Liverpool vs. Brighton
Brighton will be doing Chelsea a lot of good if they win this game. But Liverpool remains the only side in the PL this season yet to lose a game in front of their home crowd.
These sides have met 3 times in recent times, with Liverpool winning all 3 games. All 3 games also had over 2,5 goals scored in them.
