The PL season kicks off with a London derby, one we haven’t seen since January 2019, between Fulham and Arsenal. For Fulham, it’s a not-so-warm welcome back to the Premier League. They will try to kick things off against a side they have only defeated once in the last eight years.
Another newly-promoted side that will be introduced to the league with a baptism of fire is Leeds. The side, led by El Loco, will travel to the home of the champions, Liverpool. It’s the Opening Day fixture nobody wants. And it could get worse for Leeds who haven’t kept a clean sheet against Liverpool in their last 12 meetings.
The Premier League announced three positive corona tests on Monday. And that means that players like Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte will now be in quarantine for 10 days. But that won’t stop proceedings from going on this weekend.

Manchester City and Manchester United will not be involved in the opening weekend. But Chelsea – and its new superstars – will be in action against Brighton & Hove Albion. With the money they have splashed this summer, the expectations are high for Frank Lampard and his boys.
Another London club that will be in action is Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham. When he takes to the dugout, he will be facing a legend in Carlo Ancelotti. In the six times both managers have faced each other, Mourinho has won four. As for the teams, Everton have it all to do, having failed to defeat Spurs in the last 15 meetings.

Before they face Manchester City in the second round of games, Wolves open their Premier League account against Sheffield United. In six of the last seven meetings between both sides, games ended with less than three goals scored.
West Brom’s opening game will be at home, against Leicester City. Crystal Palace will play host to Southampton while Newcastle United will travel to West Ham United.
