3 teams are fighting for the 2 Champions League spots left in the Premier League with just 2 games left. Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool currently sit 3rd, 4th and 5th currently separated by 3 points. The race starts tonight with Chelsea hosting Leicester in a top 4 decider.
LEICESTER
Fresh off their first ever FA Cup win, Leicester will be in high spirits approaching the remaining games of the season. The Foxes have already beaten Chelsea twice this season and will be looking to do it once more. They will also be eager to avoid the woes of the previous season. Leicester cruelly missed out on a Top 4 place last season despite spending the majority of the season in 2nd place.
CHELSEA
Chelsea have had a disappointing week. They surprisingly lost against Arsenal and suffered a shock FA Cup final defeat to Leicester. They looked to have secured Top 4 last week but MUST now beat Leicester to secure their place. Thomas Tuchel will be keen to ensure his side does not suffer an embarrassing end to the season. Chelsea could also qualify for the Champions League by winning the Competition itself on the 29th. That however is a daunting task given their form and the fact that they face an incredible Man. City side.
LIVERPOOL
Alisson Becker’s 95th minute winner vs West Brom on Sunday summed up Liverpool’s season. Jurgen Klopp’s side have had to live on scraps this season following numerous injuries to his team. The Reds have had to do without Virgin van Dijk for majority of the season and have been affected massively. They’ve however managed to claw their way back into the top 4 races with wins against Man. United and West Brom. With Chelsea and Leicester facing each other, Liverpool’s chances are looking very bright. They must however win their remaining games too.
