While the La Liga superstars are away on international break, action continues in the second tier of Spanish club football. The league which is now four games old has been nothing short of eventful.
The table is gradually taking shape as teams fight it out for points and exchange slots on the table. As the back-and-forth continues this weekend, these are some of the teams to look out for:
-
Sporting Gijon
After playing four games, they’re one of the very few sides that are on a 100% winning run, and have yet to concede a goal. So far, they have scored five goals, and are currently at the top of the table.

Last season, they finished in 13th place. Should they continue with this fine form, they’re well on their way to gaining promotion back to top division.
2. Espanyol
Fresh from getting relegated from La Liga, Espanyol have been playing like a side not willing to spend more than one season in the lower rungs of Spanish football. After four games played, they have registered three wins and a draw.
Just like Sporting, they have also kept clean sheets in these games. One of the sides to look out for this season.
