The month of September started with football action in all of Europe top five football leagues.
All of that action will have to go on break this coming weekend as the international break will take centre-stage
As we anticipate qualifiers and of course, the UEFA Nations League, let’s take a look at some of the action from the past weekend and the questions arising.
-
Which of these results was the most shocking?
The weekend saw most of the big names comfortably win their games. From Barcelona’s 8-2 win to Bayern Munich’s comfy win over Stuttgart, it was a good day for most of the top clubs. Well, it was almost a good day for all of them.
In Italy, Sampdoria subjected Napoli to a 3-0 loss. On Saturday, it was Celta Vigo who defeated Atletico Madrid by a 2-goal margin. These results were largely unexpected – including Wolves’ win over West Ham.
-
Who will drop points first in the Premier League?
Over four MatchDays now, Liverpool, Chelsea and Watford – surprisingly – have managed to continue their winning run. Their 100% record is very much intact. The season is still very much in its early stages but they’ve started the same way Manchester City did last season, right?
After the international break, the real test will come for these teams. Liverpool will face Tottenham away from home. Watford will host Manchester United.

Will the goals continue to flow in the German Bundesliga?
If you’re looking for profitable betting market, it’d be wise to take a look at the German Bundesliga. In the first round of games, only two games ended with under 1,5 goals. In the second round of games, only one game – Hannover vs. Dortmund – ended with under 1,5 goals.

Who can keep up with PSG in Ligue 1?
Boasting by a fair distance one of the best squads in the league, PSG, with only 4 games played, has already created a 3-point gap between themselves and second-placed Dijon. They’ve scored an average of 3 goals per game, conceding 4 in four games. Obviously, they’re favorites to win the title.
But which other team can keep up, probably compete with them for the title?
Lille, Marseille and Lyon come to mind here. But these teams falter whenever they play away from home. Dijon has started well, losing just one of their four Ligue 1 games this season. But can they keep it up?
-
When will Cristiano Ronaldo score his debut goal?
For the third match running, Ronaldo played for 90 minutes. But for the third Serie A game in a row, he failed to find the back of the net. The Myth as he’s fondly known by his Italian fans will definitely get the goals. The question is: when?
