UCL

Only one game finished without a goal in the first round of the 2020/2021 UCL season group stage games. From away wins to games seeing six goals scored, it was an eventful first round of games. All that is past now as teams get set for the second of the six rounds of games to be played in the group stage.

The results from the previous round will definitely influence how the next set of games will play out. Teams that lost will want to bounce back to winning ways while sides that started things off with a win will want to continue the trend.

As we look forward to the next round, here are some of the teams to look out for:

  1. Juventus vs. Barcelona

Err… we can all agree that this is one of the biggest games of the round, right? If you’re in doubt, this is because of obvious reasons.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus and Lionel Messi of Barcelona will be facing off in this clash. Both teams started their UCL season with a win and head into this game with an opportunity to top the table at stake.

The last time both sides played, the game ended in a goalless draw.

  1. Atalanta vs. Ajax

Did you hear that Ajax scored 13 goals in their last game? After losing their opening UCL game, the Dutch side bounced back to winning ways and will be looking to follow up their win with another when they face Atalanta.

In this first meeting between both sides notorious for scoring a lot, a goal fest is largely expected.

  1. Sevilla vs. Rennes

Rennes was one of the unbeaten teams in Europe until they lost to Angers yesterday. That loss came just after their draw against Krasnodar. With Sevilla also failing to defeat Chelsea, there’s a lot at stake for both sides if they are to make it into the knockout stages of the competition.
