Samba Boys vs. Super Eagles

This weekend, we will be seeing the Super Eagles go against the Samba Boys in Singapore.

Though this isn’t so much a competition since this is a friendly match, we are eager to see who will win this match.

Which of these teams will be going home with a win? The Samba Boys or the Super Eagles?

While you decide that, let’s look at both teams’ chances of winning…

Brazil

Brazil are gunning for their first victory since they won the Copa America in July.

Their success then wasn’t so surprising especially since they went into the competition with a great defense.

The only goal they conceded in the competition was a penalty which was in the final match.

However, the great form from the Copa America has been found missing in their recent performance. They have not won any of their last three games.

They drew against Columbia in September and lost to Peru. Their last game against Senegal ended with a 1-1 scoreline.

This is the longest that the team has gone without a win since Tite began coaching the team in 2016.

Brazil needs a win very badly.  That should be enough driving force for the team as they enter this game.

Nigeria

Nigeria are looking to build up some momentum ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign which begins next month. Their recent form has not done justice to this goal.

They have lost five of their last seven games played against Non-African teams, including friendly matches.

Their last game was against Ukraine which ended with a 2-2 score line.  They initially led with 2-0, but Ukraine were able to score and level the score late in the game.

However, we should not forget the fact that they have managed to score 10 goals in their last six games.

Still, Nigeria will not come to play with their full squad. Peter Etebo was not able to travel because of a visa issue. Also, Kenneth Omeruo, Samuel Kalu and Ola Aina will all be missing the game due to injuries.

Nigeria have been able to score goals in their last few games. Do you think that they can score enough goals to win this game? Or will it end in a tie?

Both teams are looking forward to winning this game, even though it is just a friendly match.
