Serie A and La Liga

There’s little next to nothing left to be seen in the Premier League. Liverpool are running away with the title, aiming to finish with an unbeaten run. It’s the same story in the French Ligue 1, with PSG exerting dominance once again.

However, the tale of the tape is quite different in both the Italian Serie A and the Spanish La Liga and. Both leagues have been more exciting than expected this season, featuring surprise packages and an exciting title race.

What used to be a one-man show has turned into a three-horse race as Inter Milan, Lazio and Juventus are now front-runners for the Italian Serie A title. Juventus have lost two league games this year already. That’s one more than the two games that Inter and Lazio have lost this season.

Despite those losses, the Turin-based club is still top of the table. With 57 points, they’re just one point ahead of Lazio (in second place) and three points ahead of Antonio Conte’s Inter (in third place).

While Juventus may rely on their experience in this title race, Inter Milan will look to rely on their solid defense (second-best in the country.) To compete with these two sides, Lazio will have to continue the goal-scoring form which has made them the second-best offensive side in the league.

Atalanta’s win over Valencia had the football world talking about the side from Bergamo. As the highest-scoring side in the league, they can’t be completely written off in this Serie A title win.

In Spain, Getafe’s surprise season continues. Ranked third in the league, they managed an Europa League win over Ajax and will be looking to close the gap between them and the two teams ahead of them: Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Los Blancos and the Catalan giants have exchanged leads at the top of the La Liga table this season. Despite losing four games this season, Barça are just one point behind Real Madrid at the top of the table. With another El Clasico looming in March, both sides will try to win all their games before that potential title decider.

Barcelona are the league’s highest scorers while Real Madrid boast the league’s best defensive records. As the season continues, both sides will be wary of slipping up. However, a slip up is almost unavoidable.

The question going forward is this: Which of these teams will win the battle for supremacy in their respective leagues and win the title? Which of these teams are you rooting for? Leave us a comment and share your thought with the world.
