The coming weekend will be headlined by the heavyweight clash between Inter Milan and AS Roma in Italy.
For both sides, this game is more than the three points at stake. For these two Serie A sides, it’s all about the race to finish in the top four.
It’s now only a matter of time before Juventus is officially crowned league champions. In second place, Napoli seem to already have a tight grip on finishing directly behind Juventus. The remaining two slots in the top four?
The two slots are heavily contested for by the following sides:

The likes of Lazio and Torino are not too far behind.
Since the league title traffic has been one-way since Day 1, attention has shifted to the drama unfolding in the top four race.

-
Inter Milan (60 points)
Inter has won 18 of the 32 games they’ve played so far the season.
Although they have lost five games away from home this season, their new-found form has seen them jump to third. They have also heavily benefited from their solid defense line.
AS Roma is the fourth highest scoring side in the league so far this season.

AC Milan
Gattuso’s side has been one of the miracle stories of the top four race in Italy this season.
On one hand, they’re the side with the least amount of goals scored in the top six. On the other hand, despite a topsy-turvy season, they’ve managed to remain in the top four since the year began.

AS Roma
The Romans are just one point behind AC Milan and six behind Inter Milan. With a decent side, they can pull off an amazing run and just earn a top four finish.
However, as things stand, they have to wait for one of the two sides ahead of them to at least drop points so they can replace them.

Atalanta
Yesterday, Atalanta broke an unwanted record in a remarkable goalless Serie A draw with Empoli.
The Champions League qualification chasers attempted 47 (FORTY SEVEN) shots in total. Although 18 of those were on target, the game still ended without a goal.
For the record, no team in Europe’s top five leagues has ever attempted more efforts and shots on target in a game since those stats were first recorded in 2006-07.
Atalanta wasted the chance to get ahead of AS Roma into fifth place. They may regret this draw by the time the end of the season comes.
