The 2019/2020 NBA season has now been paused twice.
First, it was the pandemic. Then, for 48 hours, players went on a strike, in the middle of the playoffs, to make their voices heard. All action was halted as players made requests, amidst a messy process. Well, all of that is behind us now as the race to the NBA Playoffs Final continues.
In the East and the West, teams jostle for points, and the chance to level up their series. Another triple double by Lebron James earned the Los Angeles Lakers a spot in the Western Conference semi-finals after yet another win over Portland Trail Blazers.

After winning their division, they now set their eyes on winning the conference. They are the first team to secure their place in the semi-finals which means they now have to wait for the other playoff games in the conference.
One of Oklahoma Thunders or Houston Rockets will face Lebron James and co. The Rockets currently lead their quarter-final series 3-2, after the Thunders won the fourth game of the series. Now, it’s all to play in Game 6. A second win in a row for Houston Rockets and they will head straight to the semi-finals.

The situation is the same across the two other quarter-final games in the same conference. LA Clippers lead the Dallas Mavericks 3-2 while the Utah Jazz can force a Game 7 if they win their next game against the Denver Nuggets.
Moving over to the Eastern Conference, it has been more straightforward than the action in the West.
The conference has already produced it’s four semi-finalists two of who, as of the time of writing this blog post, were already at each other’s necks.
For Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, their quarter-final games were a walk in the park. All three teams won their series 4-0, all except Milwaukee Bucks, whose series needed a fifth game after they lost the first.
One of the last five meetings between both sides went into overtime.
