Welcome to the beginning another week (the last in June).

Now, if you’re one of those who have been waiting for the new Premier League or La Liga season to start before you start placing bets, then you’re dulling. You know why?

While you’ve been waiting, there has been non-stop action in the sports world; sporting events you could have made some cool cash from. That being mentioned, you haven’t exactly missed too much as the sports party continues over the summer; one worthy mention being rugby.

The biggest event happening currently in the world of rugby is the British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. It’s a three-match test series between the All Blacks and the Lions.

And it started yesterday, with New Zealand winning the first game of the tour 30-15.

While the Lions attacked swiftly and created chances, they couldn’t convert them. Their poor conversion – and mistakes – was taken advantage of by the All Blacks who were too clinical on the day as Rieko Ioane, on his first start, scored twice.

The Lions will be looking to become the only third side to ever come back from going 1-0 down in a series in 129 years.

For a team that has the World Rugby Men’s Player of the Year Beauden Barrett in it, the world of rugby must have expected the result.

But, being a series, it’s not over yet. Later this week (on Saturday), the Lions will face the All Blacks in a must-win game in Wellington to keep the series alive. They will prepare for the game with a tour match on Tuesday against Super Rugby champions, the Hurricanes, also in Wellington.

Although on a 47-match unbeaten run at home, New Zealand lost the last time they faced England in Westpac Stadium – venue for the next game.

With action from the Confederations Cup and the Euro U21 coming up this week, it sounds like it’ll be a fabulous one already. Stick around for more action even on this blog.

Cheers to an awesome week ahead!
