Merseyside Derby and Other Games to Bet On in the FA Cup

English football continues to dominate the European football scenes this weekend as attention switches to the F.A Cup. Alongside the Spanish La Liga, the oldest football competition in the world will feature 32 games this weekend as teams try to get past the third round.

Of those 32 games, only two will be games between Premier League sides. In the remaining 30, lower-ranked English teams will be looking to keep up the magic of the FA Cup by eliminating the big names in the competition.

Some of the games to bet on are:

  1. Arsenal vs. Leeds

It’s Mikel Arteta up against the veteran in Marcelo Bielsa, a manager that Pep Guardiola has described as the best manager in the world. Arsenal’s win over Chelsea was the first under Arteta and the Gunners will be looking to continue their momentum going forward.

Arsenal have won five of their last six games against Leeds, with same amount of games ending with both teams scoring goals.

For Leeds, they’re top of the table in the English Championship, boasting the league’s second-best defense. However, they have not defeated Arsenal in over 15 years, a record that might haunt them in this clash.

  1. Wolves vs. Manchester United

Although priced at 2.40 odds on NairaBET, Wolves go into this game as favorites no thanks to their unbeaten run in games against Manchester United. Having scored in four of their last five games – save the one against Liverpool – they are a real threat to Man. Utd in this competition.

Man. Utd have failed to win any of their last four games against Wolves, all of which featured both teams getting on the score sheet.

Manchester United have lost three of their last five away games. They must now improve their away form to stand any chance against Wolverhampton.

  1. Liverpool vs. Everton

Liverpool’s home record is still very much intact. Since the 19/20 football season began, they have won all their home games except the one against Arsenal and Napoli. Carlo Ancelotti, who guided Napoli to a draw at Anfield, is now the manager at Everton.

Call it boring but Everton have failed to win any of the last 20 Merseyside derbies in all competitions. However, being a cup game, the result of this game will be largely hinged on what teams the managers field for the game.

Will it be another win for Liverpool or will the Reds suffer a shock defeat?

  1. Middlesbrough vs. Tottenham

Middlesbrough have pulled off two surprise wins in their last two games. Against Preston and West Brom away from home and above them on the table, they upset the odds and even went on to keep a clean sheet.

In their head-to-head record, both teams have scored in eight of the last 10 meetings.

They’re up against a Tottenham side that has won only one of their last five games. With Mourinho’s side under pressure, this game is well poised to feature the magic of the FA Cup, with the smaller team eliminating the higher-ranked side.

Remember that if any game ends in a draw, it will be replayed. Of the 32 games to be played, which of them will finish in a draw? Name the game in the comments and share your thoughts with the world.
