It seemed just like a few days ago when the Indiana Wells Masters was concluded with Osaka and Juan Martin del Potro winning both the female and male categories. Another tournament in the ATP World Tour is here again in the form of the Miami Open.
It may still be early days in this tournament but it has already had its own fair share of shock exits. Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer who made it all the way to the finals of the Indiana Wells tournament crashed out after the second round in Miami.
So which male player is still in the running to win this tournament?
- Juan Martin del Potro: The Argentine is enjoying his tennis again after spending some time away from the game. He has only dropped one set in his two games played and is one of the favorites to win the trophy.
- Alexander Zverev: The German who the No. 4 seed of the tournament has already made it through into the last 16 of the tournament. Although he has needed three-set matches to win all his games so far, the 20-year old is another favorite to win the competition.

- Marin Cilic: He is seeded No. 2 for this tournament and he has proven his status so far. He has not dropped any set in the two games he has played and will be looking to keep it that way till the end of the competition.
In the women’s category, Caroline Wozniacki and Osaka (who won the last ATP World Tour tournament) have also crashed out of the competition. This leaves the category with names like:
- Venus Williams: She has found a way to push her way through into the latter stages of WTA tournaments in recent times. She knocked out the defending champion, Konta, and will be looking to improve her record of winning 6 sets so far and losing just 2.
Both women have never played each other before.

- Elina Svitolina: She is the highest seeded female remaining in the females category (No. 4 seed), making her one of the hottest favorites to lift the trophy. The Ukrainian has done well for herself so far too, making sure she wins the last set in all of her games so far and having the final say.
The last time both players met, Ostapenko defeated Svitolina.
Ostapenko has been priced at 3.20 to defeat the Ukrainian.
