Tottenham VS Man Utd: Santo & Solskjaer Facing The Sack

October 30, 2021 Leave a Comment

Tottenham and Manchester United face off on Saturday in the biggest match of Gameweek 10 in the Premier League. It will be the first meeting between Nuno Espirito Santo and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the former became Tottenham’s manager. A win is important for either team as both managers are under immense pressure following their teams’ poor form. Separated by one point in 6th and 7th, a loss in this match could result in the sacking of either Santo or Solskjaer.

Neither Tottenham nor Man. United can afford to lose on Saturday. Click here to bet on Tottenham VS Man Utd on nairabet.com.

SANTO’S INCONSISTENT TOTTENHAM

Nuno Espirito Santo started off the season with 3 wins from 3 matches as new manager of Tottenham. His team looked solid and didn’t even concede a goal in any of the 3 matches. Things have regressed since however. Spurs suffered 3 Premier League losses in a row against London rivals Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal. They then mounted a brief comeback with back-to-back victories before succumbing to another loss last weekend. Santo’s men also suffered embarrassing losses to Pacos Ferreira and Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.

These results and inconsistencies have piled pressure on Santo and rumours of his sack are surfacing after only 4 months in charge. The Portuguese manager will need results to go his way for some of the pressure to ease up. A win against Manchester United would be one of such results. He will also need stars like Harry Kane and Son Heung Min to start shining again. Spurs will be buoyed by their opponents equally poor form. United are winless in 4 Premier League matches, losing 3 of them and piling pressure on Santo’s opposite manager, Solskjaer.

Son Heung Min has 3 goals in his last 2 matches against Manchester United. Click here to bet on Son to score @ 3.00 odds & other markets in Tottenham VS Man Utd on nairabet.com.

SOLSKJAER’S DISUNITED MANCHESTER UNITED

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s hopes of keeping his job as Manchester United manager are hanging by a thread. Winless in 4 Premier League games and coming off a 5-0 humiliation at home at the hands of Liverpool is stuff of nightmares. Names of potential replacements have been sounded out and the fans are calling for his head. His tenure looks to be coming to an end. He has however been given a little more time to save his job. But with games against Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester City coming up, Manchester United will have to be perfect for the pressure on Solskjaer to ease up.

Ole will have to sort United’s defence to start with if they want to beat Tottenham and other matches coming up. The Red Devils have conceded 10 goals in the Premier League in October alone and have only kept 1 clean in all competitions this season. While Tottenham themselves may be faltering, they still have a potent attack in the likes of Kane, Son and Lucas Moura. Solskjaer will also be hoping for a return to form for Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo has not scored in the League since scoring against West Ham in September. A loss in this game could be the final nail in Solskjaer’s coffin and bring an end to his 3 year reign as Manchester United manager.

Manchester United have kept only 1 clean sheet in 9 Premier League matches this season. Click here to bet on Man Utd NOT to keep a clean sheet @ 1.28 odds and other markets in Tottenham VS Man Utd on nairabet.com.

HEAD TO HEAD

Tottenham and United share a close head-to-head record recently. In the last 10 matches between them, Tottenham have won 4 while Manchester United have won 5 with 1 draw. Both teams won away when they met last season with Spurs smashing United 6-1 at Old Trafford and United winning the reverse fixture 3-1 at the Tottenham Stadium.
