Later this month, a new season of Europe’s biggest football show will kick off. For the past two months, the race to qualify for the new UEFA Champions League season has been on, with several clubs playing series of qualifiers.
With the qualifiers done and dusted, we now know the 32 teams that will be taking part in this competition. Another thing we now also know is the different groups that the clubs were drawn into.
The UCL is more notorious for its knock-out games rather than the group-stage games. The group stage games are all about the race to qualify for the knockout stages where teams either go big or go home. But with the kind of draws that were made for the 2018 UCL season, all of that might just change.
This year’s draws grouped so many top clubs together and will be serving up mouth-watering games from the first Matchday to the final game. As we anticipate the first set of games, we’re discussing one of the most asked questions: With so many tough groups and pairings, which of the UCL groups is the toughest?

In Group A, Atletico Madrid has been paired alongside Borussia Dortmund and Monaco. Diego Simeone’s men may be kings of the Europa League but they’ve not had as much luck in the UCL. Monaco may have sold more than they should but they’re still in Europe. And there’s Dortmund with their Yellow Wall.
In Group B, FC Barcelona will have to outplay Inter Milan, the ever-ambitious Tottenham and Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven. Inter Milan may be past their glory days, but they’ve got Ivan Perisic, Mauro Icardi and Nainggolan. Barcelona’s toughest opponents in this group may just be Harry Kane and co.
In Group C, Liverpool, PSG and Napoli have been paired together in the same group. All three clubs are notorious for having players who score a lot of goals. This is the kind of group whose winner might just be decided by the goals. That’s how tough it looks!
How many goals do you think PSG will be able to score in this one?

Group D will be keenly contested by Galatasaray, Porto and Schalke 04. Group E may be all about Bayern Munich at the end of the day – maybe Munich and Benfica. Group F looks like Manchester City may just have a fun-filled UCL group stage.
In Group G, it will be all about Real Madrid and AS Roma.
But in Group H, Juventus, Manchester United and Valencia will have to slug it out for the top two spots. Old friends will be reconnected in Turin and at the Theatre of Dreams. Valencia will definitely want to prove a point on a stage this big.
The stage is set for a new UCL season. Which of these groups do you think is the toughest one? Leave us your comments and share your thoughts with us.
