23 Names That Could Still Make a Move in the summer transfer

The top 5 European leagues are gradually finding their way back into the spotlight as the football season begins. But all the action won’t be limited to the football pitch.

With the summer transfer window set to slam shut in just more than 3 weeks, the scramble for which player to buy continues as clubs continue to bolster their squads in preparation for the new season ahead.

The football world may not see another world-record setting move like Neymar’s before this window closes but you can be sure to see players moving in opposite direction before that deadline second. Whether it’s for a new challenge, the money or something else, you can look forward to even more breaking transfer news in the days ahead.

While there’s a long list, we’ve selected a few names which we think may still make a move before the end of the summer transfer window.

  1. Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona, after losing Neymar, is looking for a replacement. And this is reportedly the name that tops the list. With the money made from the sale of Neymar, price is definitely not an issue.

  1. Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid and PSG are looking to get the signature of the French wonder kid. But Monaco, after the mass exodus so far, will want to hold on to their striker.

Mbappe still remains a Monaco player. His club is away to Dijon this weekend in the second MatchDay of the Ligue 1 season. Do you think he will help his team to a win?

  1. Ousmane Dembele

The Borussia Dortmund man is wanted by Barcelona according to reports. The German outfit has said they will sell, but only for a fee close the €100m mark.

  1. Gareth Bale

Jose Mourinho has hinted that he would be “waiting for Bale on the other side of the door,” should Real Madrid declare the Welshman surplus. For now, Gareth Bale seems settled in Madrid. But one new signing by Florentino Perez could change everything.

  1. Fabinho

Another name that may be on the way out of Monaco is this midfielder. Some English clubs, like Manchester United, are reportedly said to be keen on bringing this one to the Premier League while Monaco try to convince him to stay.

  1. Thomas Lemar

Arsenal is front-runner for the winger as it is reported that a bid of £30m was rejected by Monaco, who wants £50 million for the 21-year-old who has five caps for France.

  1. Virgil van Dijk

This transfer saga continues as the defender formally handed in a transfer request to the Southampton management this week. He’s looking to force a move out of the club but the Saints are not willing to sell.

  1. Serge Aurier

This is the latest name to be connected with a move to the Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte looks to bolster a squad that will be taking part in more competitions this season.

  1. Gabriel

The Arsenal defender is a target for Valencia, as the La Liga side looks for a replacement for Eliaquim Mangala who returned to Manchester City after a loan spell.

  1. Carl Jenkinson

Another name linked with a move away from Arsenal as clubs like Brighton, Crystal Palace and Newcastle look to bolster their squad for the new season.

  1. Sergi Roberto

The name that has surprisingly been linked with a move to Manchester United.

  1. Danny Rose

The Tottenham full-back has drawn interests from clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester United.

  1. David Silva

Reports have it that the Spaniard will be signing for his home club, Las Palmas, when his contract ends in 2019.

With 2019 still tons of miles away, David Silva will most likely feature in Manchester City’s Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion. Will the Cityzens start the season with a win?

Still a Leicester player but wanted by AS Roma, among other clubs.

  1. Carlos Bacca

With the influx of players in Milan, the Colombian is looking for greener pastures somewhere else.

  1. Diego Costa

The question of which club Costa will end up still remains a mystery. A. Madrid and AC Milan are names being linked with the Spaniard.

  1. Stevan Jovetic

The former Manchester City striker is wanted by Marseille who will lodge a €15m offer for the Inter forward.

  1. Andre Gomes

The Portuguese may soon be saying his goodbyes to the Catalan giants. Barcelona reportedly set to offer him to Liverpool as part of the deal for Philippe Countinho.

  1. Jese Rodriguez

The former Real Madrid player has been linked with a move to Fiorentina.

  1. Paulo Dybala

According to reports, Real Madrid is preparing an offer of €80-85 for the Juventus forward.

  1. Bernd Leno

The Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper has been quoted as suggesting that a move away from the German side “is possible.”

  1. Gylfi Sigurdsson

It seems that the Swansea player will make a move to Everton before the transfer window is closed. Reports have it that a fee has been agreed by Swansea and Everton and the move is now only a few days away from being made official.
