4 Ways to Place Your UCL Bets This Week

March 09, 2020 1 Comment

The UEFA Champions League resumes this week.

Featuring the second leg of the Round of 16 games, scores have to be settled as clubs try to progress to the quarter-finals.

For some clubs, it will be mostly about overturning the deficit suffered in the first leg. For others, holding on to the first leg advantage will be the plan. Regardless, this week will feature plenty of premium football action that you can enjoy, and also make money from.

Four UCL games will be played this week. RB Leipzig, Tottenham, Valencia, Atalanta, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, PSG and Borussia Dortmund will all be in action this week.

So, how should you line up these games on your bet slip this week?

Here are some ideas:

  1. Liverpool to Win

There’s been so much noise in and about Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium this season.

Asides the Reds going on such an amazing unbeaten run, the stadium has become a fortress for Jurgen Klopp’s team, so much so that it has been over 1000 days since Liverpool’s last home defeat in the Premier League.

Liverpool’s last three games against Atletico Madrid ended in a 1-0 scoreline after 90 minutes.

However, the UCL is very much different.

Liverpool have a mixed European home record, especially against Spanish oppositions, having a record of 6 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses. Regardless, the Reds will be looking to take advantage of Atleti’s poor run of form which has seen them lose four of their last six European away clashes.

  1. PSG VS. Dortmund: Over 2,5 Goals

These two sides are easily a part of Europe’s top 10 prolific sides in front of goal this season.

Asides scoring for fun, they’ve also been keeping things pretty decent at the back.

Dortmund, with three clean sheets in their last five games, travel to France to face a PSG side that has scored four goals each, in three of their last five games.

In the last three meetings between both sides, PSG has failed to defeat Dortmund. With a 2-1 deficit waiting to be surmounted and a UCL quarter-final at stake, expect both teams to come out guns blazing, as they attempt to ‘secure the bag’ and move to the next round.

  1. RB Leipzig to Win

These are tough times for Tottenham.

They have not won a game in their last five, they’re shipping in the goals and struggling to get their act together up front. The last thing they need now is a trip to Germany to take on a Leipzig side that has remained unbeaten in 11 home games.

Both teams have scored in eight of Leipzig’s last 10 games.

  1. Valencia vs. Atalanta: Both Teams to Score

These days, there a handful of things that are sure to happen, including death, taxes and Atalanta scoring when they play.

The Italian outfit have been merciless up-front this season, scoring seven goals against Lecce, seven against Torino, and four against Valencia in the first leg.

This tie is a long way from over, as Valencia set up as the home team in the reverse fixture of this match-up.

Only Real Madrid has managed to defeat Valencia at home in their last five games, a run of fixture which includes a win over Barcelona and a draw against Atletico Madrid.
