The series of qualifiers for the new Champions League and Europa League continue this month.
The long journey which started last month has seen a number of clubs fall out of the running while some others have survived up till this stage: the third qualifying round.
As the first leg of the 3rd qualifying round starts this week, here are some useful tips that can help you win more of your bets this week.
As things stand, there’s only one more qualifying round (the playoffs) between this stage and the group stages.
20 clubs have made it this far and this is what the match-ups look like:
- Astana vs. Dinamo Zagreb
- Qarabağ vs. BATE
- Malmö FF vs. Vidi
- Slavia Praha vs. Dynamo Kyiv
- Standard Liège vs. Ajax
- Crvena Zvezda vs. Spartak Trnava
- Benfica vs. Fenerbahçe
- PAOK vs. Spartak Moskva
- Salzburg vs. Shkendija
- Celtic vs. AEK Athens
If you’re looking to bet on goals, you should look out for a team like Dinamo Zagreb. In their second qualifying round, they scored 7 goals, with both legs ending with over 2,5 goals. Another club to keep an eye out for is Ajax, the Dutch side that scored 5 goals against Strum Graz in the previous stage.

Shkendija, Vidi, Qarabag and Crvena Zvezda were the only sides to keep a clean sheet in the second qualifying round? Can they do the same in this round?

If you’re looking to back any team, you can as well go for the names that ply their trade in Europe’s top five leagues. The likes of Sevilla, Atalanta, Burnley, RB Leipzig, and Bordeaux were able to score at least three goals each in the previous round of qualifying games.
Speaking of goals, you may want to back Atlanta, Spartaks Jurmala, Genk, Sevilla and Dinamo Minsk, all of which scored at least 7 goals in the second round of qualifying games.
