The UEFA Champions League group stage games aren’t as popular as the semi-final or the final stages of the competition.
Most fans watch it just so the story can make sense by the time the knockout stages of the competition starts.
But this season’s group stage games have been somewhat different, no thanks to the pairing of some major teams together in the same group.
One such group is Group B, a group that has Lionel Messi’s, Mauro Icardi’s and Harry Kane’s teams all battling it out for the two available tickets for the next round. Then there’s Liverpool’s group, a group that has been littered with goals.
With 3 games done and dusted, the second half of the 2018/2019 UCL group stage continues this week. As we look ahead to these games, here are some useful pointers for those who would like to put their money where their mouth is:
Daylight Saving Time
If you’re one of the few who have missed kick-off times in the past few days, you may want to pay attention.
Starting this month, daylight saving times have changed. What that means is Europe is now 1 hour behind Nigeria. Champions League games that you usually start 7:45 pm will now kick off an hour later; 8:45 pm.

All 32 teams competing in this year’s edition of the competition have found the back of the net at least once. But some have been more prolific than the others.
The most prolific of them all in front of goal so far this season has been Barcelona and PSG. Both teams have scored 10 goals in the three games they’ve played so far. Their kind of goals/match average is largely unmatched in the UCL this season.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus remain the only two teams yet to concede a goal after 3 UCL games played. Both teams have benefited immensely from a solid attack that has averaged at least 2 goals per game in the competition and a defense that takes no hostages.
And that’s why both teams are sitting comfortably at the top of their respective groups.
The Unbeaten Ones
Real Madrid’s loss to CSKA leaves them out of this exclusive list of teams that have not lost a game in the UCL this season. Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Napoli, Porto, Schalke 04, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Lyon and Juventus are the nine teams yet to taste defeat in the UCL campaign this season.
