What’s a UEFA Champions League quarter-final without its fair share of drama?
The just-concluded UCL quarter-finals produced regular semi-finalists like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and the surprise packages like AS Roma and Liverpool. But all four needed to dramatically make it through to the next phase of the competition.
Now that 32 clubs have been reduced to 4, things will get even more exciting when the semi-final draws are made on Friday. As we look forward to which clubs will be paired with each other in the draws, here are some profitable markets you can make some money from in the semis:
-
Over 2,5 Goals
By all means, this year’s UCL has seen more than its fair share of goals. Teams have been rampant and the ones that couldn’t stand the heat have been kicked out of the kitchen. This is one reason why you cannot over look the Over 2,5 Goals market as the UCL season progresses.
Looking at the numbers, 12 of the 16 games played in the Round of 16 produced over 2,5 goals. That’s a 75% rate. Moving into the quarter-finals, of the eight games played, 7 had over 2,5 goals in them. That’s a 12.5% increase from the numbers from the Round of 16.

Both Teams to Score
Every team that has made it thus far into the competition has had to outscore their opponents. At some point, they conceded goals but didn’t give up.
Moving forward, the number of goals scored so far in the knockout stages of this competition suggests that the Both Teams to Score mart will be a favorable one for you going into the next stage of the competition.
Bayern Munich and Liverpool have scored 10 goals in the knockout stages alone. With four games played, that’s an average of 2,5 goals scored per game. For Real Madrid (9 goals)and AS Roma (6 goals), the average is a goal per game.
Do you think both of their games will see both teams score in it?

Mo Salah, Cristiano Ronaldo to score
To an extent, the Reds have been one of the most prolific goal scorers since this year’s edition of the tournament began. With a front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Saido Mane, it’s been difficult to hold them down.
While they’re not yet favorites to win the title, it’s hard to bet against players like Mo Salah increasing his goal tally in the competition. One way or the other, the chances will fall to him and he will convert… like he has always done since the competition began.
Cristiano Ronaldo is another name that will definitely increase his tally as the competition goes along. He’s enjoying a goal-scoring streak at the moment and looks like he won’t stop anytime soon.
