When the noise of the return of club football is over, another one will take the main stage next week. As club football resumes, there’ll be no rest for certain teams that have European commitments.

As a new UEFA Champions League season resumes, the quest to conquer European club football is on again. 32 clubs start, afresh, with zero points, the race to win the big-eared trophy.

While the fun in the UCL usually starts in the second round, the group stage draws this year means fans are in for a treat from the word go. With major names paired against each other, the group stage will see some mouth-watering games, which you can enjoy and also cash out from.

Each team will play six games in the group stage. But they start things off, next week, with the first, and probably the most important.

If you’re wondering, the current champions, Bayern Munich, have one of the toughest tasks in the first round of games. As champions, they start their campaign at home, against Atletico Madrid. The Spanish side, which defeated Liverpool last season, will be relishing their chances of starting off on the right foot this season, with a win against the champs.

Europa League champion, Sevilla, will be playing Champions League football this season. And their first game will be against Chelsea. It’s the first time both sides will be facing off and both managers will be hoping to start with a win.

Another English contingent set to face a tough task is Manchester United. The Red Devils travel to Paris to take on Manchester United, a not-so-familiar foe. Both sides met twice in the same competition last year, with each team winning one game. PSG may be a side riddled with so many absentees. However, they’re still no push-overs for a Man. Utd side with its own set of problems.

Lazio vs. Borussia Dortmund is one of those games largely expected to produce goals. There have been at least three goals scored in six of Dortmund’s last seven games. It remains to be seen if they will carry that form into the UCL starting next week.

Bookies’ favorites, Manchester City, start off their campaign by welcoming FC Porto to the Etihad Stadium. In 2012, both sides met twice. And both games produced at least three goals each. Ajax play host to Liverpool while Olympiacos host Marseille.

Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Leipzig, and Inter Milan will also be in action in the opening week. Which of these sides will you be looking to make some extra cash from? Drop your comments and join the conversation.
