The UEFA Nations League, although already competitive, is now set to be even more competitive. That’s because the competition is now at a stage where promotion and relegation is involved.
Teams that do well (or have done well so far) get promoted to the higher group. The ones who haven’t done so well get relegated. Although some games were played over the weekend, more will be played this week.
With just one game remaining for each of these teams to play, the possible scenarios are numerous. With most of these games largely decided, which ones are we looking forward to this week?
League A
In this league, it has already been determined who will be relegated. From each of the groups in the league, Germany, Iceland, Poland and Croatia are on their way down to League B.
Holland will visit Germany to take on the former World champions. A draw or win will see them top their group and join Portugal, England and Switzerland in the Final Four. The French will be closely monitoring this game. Should Germany win, then France will qualify for the Final Four instead.
Up against a Germany side winless in four consecutive competitive matches, do you think Holland are favorites to win this game?

League B
In this league, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Denmark have already won promotion to League A. The remaining slot will be keenly contested for, when Sweden and Russia face each other this week.
Russia, yet to taste defeat, is top of the table with 7 points. In second place, the Swedes have 4 points. A draw or win would be enough for Russia in this match set to be played in Stockholm.

In the battle for relegation, either of Czech Republic and Slovakia will try to avoid joining Turkey, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland on the way down to another level. Both sides meet on Monday night, with Slovakia needing to win to survive.
League C
In this league, only one team has already secured promotion at this level, with Finland on the top. In the other groups, there’s still a lot to play for: a chance for promotion and a chance to avoid relegation.
One of those games is the one between Scotland and Israel. With both sides on 6 points, a win for either side will earn them the top spot. Should the Israelites win or draw, the top spot will be theirs. Elsewhere, Norway and Bulgaria (both on 10 points) will slug it out to finish top of the group. Qualification in Group C3 could as well come down to goal difference.
