UEFA Nations League Final: Where Does Victory Lie?

UEFA Nations League Final: Where Does Victory Lie?

It has been a long time coming, but finally, we are at the Nations League final.

The league this season started with 20 teams and now, we are down to two.  Portugal and Netherlands are set to play against each other in the final.

Also, we are expecting a third-place playoff where Switzerland and England will compete for third place.

The 9th holds a lot of thrilling footballing action for you, and as usual, the opportunity to predict and earn some extra cash.

This has been a long season. Where does Victory lie? Will Portugal emerge victorious or can Netherlands beat Portugal even in their home?

Let’s take a look at what they have done so far…

Portugal

This is not the first meeting between Portugal and Netherlands.

They have met 15 times and Portugal have dominated most of their previous meetings. They have seven wins to their name which is way more than Netherland’s two wins.

Also, Portugal have all of their last nine matches.

With this record, the chances of Portugal winning this match seem higher.

Also, they have the home advantage working for them. They are the host country and the final will be played in Porto.

This will be Portugal’s first title since the 2016 European Championship, that is if they win.

They have to make sure that this match counts for them.

Portugal has beaten the Netherlands seven times.
Do you think that they can make this another win for them?

Netherlands

Netherlands have done a good job so far, but they still have a lot to do.

They have to ensure that they bring their A game to this game. First of all, they are playing against Portugal in their home.

And secondly, history doesn’t have a lot to back them up.  They have not done a good job beating Portugal in their previous meetings.

This doesn’t mean that all hope is lost though.

This is an opportunity for them to win an international competition since the 1988 European Championship.

That alone is enough motivation to win.

We should also not forget that they were able to put the last two world cup winners (France and Germany) out of the running in the qualification rounds.

Netherlands have won just two out of their meetings with Portugal.
Do you think they can add this game to their list of wins?

This is the inaugural Edition of the UEFA nations league. And any team that wins will be making history. So, this is really a dicey one for both teams.

Portugal has Cristiano Ronaldo on their side. And Netherlands have Van Dijk on their side.

At this point, we can only hope that the best team wins.

Now over to you…

Both teams have done a great job so far, but the question “who will win?” is yet to be answered.

Who do you think will win emerge victorious? Portugal or Netherlands? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
