It’s the first weekend since the World Cup finals.
As expected, other sports, over the course of the week, have taken centre-stage. This weekend, all that action is set to continue across board in all kinds of sports.
If you’re reading this post, we understand that you’re looking to make some extra cash this weekend. If you’re unsure of the sporting events set to go down this weekend, here are some of them:
-
International club friendlies
The 2018/2019 football season in Europe will kick off in August. With just a few days left, clubs across the continent are getting ready for the long season ahead.
For some clubs, the players have started resuming to camp. For some others, like Manchester United, they have already played their first friendly (which ended in a 1-1 draw against Club America). These friendly games will continue well into the latter days of this month of July – and even the early days of August.

Women’s Hockey World Cup
Another world cup follows hot in the foot-steps of the one that just ended. But this one is not a football world cup.
This weekend, female hockey players will converge in London and battle it out for glory. The 16 teams set to compete against each other in the next three weeks have been drawn into four pools:
- Pool A: China, Italy, Korea, Netherlands
- Pool B: England, India, Ireland, Usa
- Pool C: Argentina, Germany, South Africa, Spain
- Pool D: Australia, Belgium, Japan, New Zealand
One team to watch out for in this one is Netherlands. Asides being the defending champions, they have won the tournament an unprecedented seven times.

The German GP
Lewis Hamilton was favorite to win the race at the Sliverstone Circuit in his home country. But Sebastian Vettel had other ideas. The German piped him to the highest podium and made the German anthem to ring out on British soil.
He will be racing in front of his home fans, something that will be a huge boost for the driver.
But can he win in Germany this weekend?

The next race which will take place this weekend will be in Germany. Lewis Hamilton – who has just signed a contract extension with Mercedes, will be looking to pay Vettel back with his own coin.
The German currently leads the driver’s standings but he’s not out totally out of the reach of the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas and others.
While the German has a great chance to extend his lead, a win for Lewis will also be vital in slashing his opponent’s eight-point lead at the top of the drivers’ standings when the next race comes alive in Germany this weekend.
