Manchester United wrapped up Game week 23 of the 2017/2018 Premier League season with a win over Stoke. As with every other game week we have witnessed this season, it was quite an exciting game week.
Manchester City got a taste of their first loss of the season and Harry Kane climbed even higher up the goal scorers’ standings. Of course, all these events brought along with them their own set of questions. And we will be taking a look at some of them:
-
How many more upsets to go?
Last Sunday proved to be a day of upsets in the Premier League. For all their up-and-down season, Arsenal’s loss to Bournemouth can still be described as an upset, while Liverpool handed Pep his first defeat of the season.
Has a defeat streak started for Man. City or they will be able to bounce back from their defeat and triumph over the Magpies?

In their own way, these upsets affected the outlook of the table. Manchester City’s lead has been cut to 12 points no thanks to that loss at Anfield. Arsenal’s loss meant that Wenger’s men are now a good 8 points away from the top four spot.
Sounds like upsets make the Premier League go round. How many more before the end of the season?

What next for Manchester City?
It’s not the loss that got people talking. It’s the manner in which they lost the game. They were bullied for the most part of that game and were pressured like never seen before. Of course the atmosphere helped but Klopp’s men exposed Pep with their display.
Now, the question is this: Is this the beginning of a downward spiral for Manchester City? How do they pick things up from here? How will they react? How many more games will they lose this season?
-
Who will miss out on a top four finish?
It’s almost certain Manchester City will finish the season champions. Looking at the chasing pack, the competition is stiff, so much so that, the third-placed and the fourth-placed teams are only separated by goals difference.
Of course there’s a certain Tottenham lurking in the corner and Arsenal occupies the sixth spot. As the season grinds to an end slowly, which of these teams will fail to finish top four? Will the Gunners have enough to finish in an Europa League spot?
-
Which team is heading for relegation?
Southampton (17), Stoke (18), West Brom (19) and Swansea (20) are all currently flirting with relegation from the Premier League. Only four points separate these four teams and it’s increasingly looking as if one – or more – of them will end up in the EFL starting from next season.
The question is: which of them? The change of managers seems to not have changed anything just yet. Depending on the coming game weeks, their luck may change and the likes of Brighton, Newcastle, Bournemouth, and Huddersfield may replace these teams.
But in the meantime, which of these teams do you think will be relegated this season?
These are the PL questions we’ve been able to come up with. What other questions are on your mind? Any surprises for you so far this season? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
